Spartanburg Juneteenth Art Gallery

Important Dates:

• June 10: Deadline for online entry submissions

• June 15: Notification of selected artists

• June 20: Artwork delivery (9:00 am - 5:00 pm)

• June 21: Opening reception and awards ceremony BEC GALA

Submission Guidelines:

• Who Can Enter: Open to individuals aged 16 and older.

• Artwork Specifications:

• All media types are accepted.

• Size must be between 8 x 12 inches and 24 x 36 inches.

• Artwork must be securely and properly prepared for installation. Clip mounting is not allowed for wall-hanging pieces.

• Artwork not adequately prepped for display may be removed from the exhibition.

• Entries should be portable and suitable for a conventional gallery setting.

• Location: The Spartanburg BEC GALA., Chapman Cultural Center, Spartanburg, SC

• Exhibition Date: June 21

Additional Information:

• The Spartanburg Juneteenth reserves the right to refuse any entry and to withdraw any artwork from the exhibition at its discretion.

• No commission will be taken on the sale of artwork.

• Artists may submit up to two entries.

• One artist chosen by the committee will receive a $500 award for their contribution to the gallery.

Gallery Hours: Each artist will receive 2 tickets for the Gala

This exhibition celebrates and commemorates visual storytelling and traditions, highlighting the power of freedom through Juneteenth.

Submission Requirements:

• Submit your ideas and headshots by June 10.

• Selected artists will be notified by June 15.
